Bingtong, busy members, and BAPTISM

So Bingtong, the 12th member in this blessed nation who joined the Church treated us to Khaw Soi last week;  hosted us again. Except this time she had a lot more people over, and this time we were able to provide her service.  She has an incredible garden our front but I didn't realize exactly how large it was and many different  fruits and vegetables plants she has. After we were done, the highlight of this afternoon was cracking open several coconuts, which everyone was treated to.  I love that it is part of the norm here to just pick from your garden a coconut to eat.

I don't know if I mentioned that a few weeks ago, but it finally hit me that I'm living in Thailand! That it's normal for me to have rice with every meal, eat mangos, coconuts, and pineapple whenever and that I go to the mountains at least once a week. I think after almost 7 months in Thailand that I've realized I'm in Thailand!

We've visited with several members this week and had
some awesome lessons with them. For several investigators, life has caught up and they've gotten too "busy" to do the things they know they should. So it was exciting to help strengthen their faith and encourage them to make commitments that will help them back to the "strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life" (2 Nephi 31:18).

BAPTISM. A less-active sister invited us to come and teach her older daughter who was searching for the gospel.  After meeting with her and her mom, she has progressed so beautifully and has such strong faith. We held the baptism for her yesterday. Sister อ้อม couldn't be happier! She is so excited about her decision and wants us to share the message with her kids and she hopes they to will be baptised!

From 2 Nephi 31, we also learn that it's those hard times that we need to endure, knowing it will all be so much better:

"Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."

Your attitude is powerful. So what you have hard times. They will always come. So what everything isn't working out perfectly. The only difference between someone who is miserable and someone who is having the time of their life everyday is their attitude. So change your attitude to reflect the kind of life you want.

I love you and so do your families!
