My First Baptism!

August 27th, 2017 3 months, 4 days Thailand, Bangkok, Bangna  (บางนา)  District Last Pday, we went with our Ward Mission Leader and his son to a snake farm.    It was surprisingly a fun trip, and I ended up holding a snake! We got this Japanese dessert after, where it was a huge mound of flavored shaved ice on top of cut up toast. I don't know why or how, but it was pretty good yo. We went to a park and walked around and fed the huge fish in the pond before returning to a teaching appointment. We've started teaching this Burmese dude that only speaks a little Thai and a little English. It's hard to teach him because he only speaks a little of the two languages we know, and because there isn't a Burmese Book of Mormon yet. I just gave him all of the pamphlets in his native tongue, showed him a page of how to pray, and hoped for the best. I went on switch offs  on Thursday  again, and oh my goodness I've never been fed so much. We did m

Crocodiles and Tigers, Oh My!

August 20th, 2017 2 months, 28 days Thailand, Bangkok, Bangna  (บางนา)  District Last Pday, we went to the Samut Prakan World's Largest Crocodile Farm and Zoo. There were indeed a lot of crocodiles present, but I also opted to hold a baby tiger and take pics with it. I played tug of war with some monkeys, and fed some crocodile fish heads.  We saw a show of two guys doing stuff with crocodiles. We somewhat split off after that- there was a sister going home, so her companionship left. My companion and one of the other elders went to go get Shabu, and the rest of us (me and a Samut Prakan elder, and the Bangna sisters) went to one of the malls and kinda just chilled. It was nice to get to know each other better as we shopped and ate pretzels. I finally got a new pair of black shoes that I've been looking for, and I even got a new Potential Investigator in the mall! It was a low-key blast. Here, they play ping pong after most ward events. So I've been playing

Zone Conference

2 months, 23 days Thailand, Bangkok, Bangna  (บางนา)  District Sorry for the late email, but we had our first zone conference  on Monday ! They moved our preparation day (p-day) to today (Wednesday, the 16th). Last p-day (typically on a Monday for our Mission), we planned to go ice skating, but ended up bowling instead. I thought it was going to be a bit of a letdown, having gotten turnt for ice skating, but it ended up being a great experience.  I guess it's the enjoyable company that makes the event and not necessarily the event itself. Our week has been (mostly) full of appointments and exciting things! The most boring day was yesterday (Tuesday the 15th) as we weren't sure for a while what day P-day would be moved to.   Because of that, we didn't schedule anything  on Tuesday  outside of English class. It was a bit of a rough day, but we lasted and endured to the good stuff.  On Friday (the 11th) , I went on switch splits (kinda of like cross traini

Thailand at Last

10 weeks 6 days Thailand, Bangkok, Bangna  (บางนา)  District I'm here!  And it has been a busy, which is good breaking it with doing different activities.  This week has been full of appointments, we went inviting a few times at Imperial mall, and we had an Open House. Our ward just got a new building recently, so they threw a huge open house. Leading up to it, we helped clean throughout the week, invited people to attend, and had our own breakout session! They started with registration and pictures and tours, then they did a traditional Thai performance of music and dance in costume. It was great! They followed it with a choir song, then they began the breakout sessions. Ours was a part of LDS-Charities (the Church's humanitarian branch), introducing the English classes we do every Tuesday  evening. They finished with  amazing  food and another choir performance. The English class is an 1 1/2 hours, and we hold 3 classes- children, basic, advanced. It's a way to
