During District Council this past week, one of the sisters made a profound statement. In discussing zone conference from the previous Saturday, Sister Christensen said that we can't truthfully love missionary work without loving all of the aspects of missionary work. One of the least desirable parts of being a missionary is going out and inviting or tracking for large periods of time. To us, it is highly ineffective, it is physically draining, emotionally trying, we face much rejection and we often do hours of it at a single time. How fortunate that we were able to try out loving the part for a 5 hour block on Wednesday 555.

With a determination to love it, I went out to make that chuck of time a fun and positive chunk of time. We made up a list of almost 50 different goals of things to say or do to start a conversation. We made it intentionally fun and the hours rocketed past as we strove to complete our list. We only got halfway through! So we were laughing so much and became in contact with so many different people. It helped encourage me to talk to people that I normally wouldn't have. There was one security guard we started talking to, บ. เด็ด (bro. Ded), who is so happy and smiling and I am so excited to bring him true and lasting joy and peace do the gospel. We've already met with him again and he has a good desire to know of God. Another one- as we were waiting to get on a bus to go to the church for an evening appointment, I pointed at a cat on this lady's phone case and said "a cat! Meow meow"which was a challenge. From this spin an hour long discussion on how she has been prepared by a God she knows exists and so much good stuff that has me speechless. ซ. เพ็ญ (S. Pen) is amazing!

On Monday, we didn't have anything planned, so try to go visit a less active number and invited in his neighborhood. Plot twist, he wasn't home and we invited in the neighborhood across the street. But that is actually what needed to happen, because we came across 2 family units whose spirits are practically begging for us to transform their lives. Shout outs to ท๊อป (top) and อัศวิน (asawin) for opening their doors. The next major thing to occur is that I, along with all of the other English Leaders (by district) and some others am now basically enrolled in a college course. President Hammond has a vision for a more professional, better run, service oriented English class. To help with this, he has asked a member to help instruct us (he just finished his masters in TESOL). He gave us a 2 chapter reading assignment from his textbook to help us prepare for an all say class on Saturday. It was honestly very exciting to he a part of. I think we are going to start improving the quality of lives outside of just the gospel. We have more trainings and readings ahead. I love my mission! Every part!
