Closer (to God) by the Chainsmokers

Miracles have been happening here in ธนบุรี! Last Monday we did not have a FHE planned so we decided to go inviting. We tried calling a member, but then I moved away from where the map said that they were. We decided to still go inviting in that area anyways. On our way there, we served, we kept walking, and then we started talking to this gentlemen. At his request, we ended up following him to his house and teaching him. It was alright. But we stayed in this hidden little neighborhood talking and trying to teach everyone. On our way out we passed by someone we had asked earlier. He said that his family was chill with us going to their house and teaching. We did. And we taught him and the 8 others that were his friends and brothers. They all are really young and smoke but we have already met again with them and there are a few gems that are really ready to change their lives.

Elder Halverson and I have some great plans to teach in this area. We started coming up with an attack plan to help out our group of kids which we refer to them as the Chainsmokers (all of the appointments we put in we tie to their songs which makes it more fun). We also have begun working more seriously with a number of responsive less active members and their extended families!

We went in for our interviews with President on Tuesday which preceded a spectacular zone conference on Friday.  Then finished the week off with Sunday stake conference. All three of those events occurred at the asoke church 555.

Zone conference was about us becoming better tools for the Lord to use. Stake conference was a good faith
focused meeting. Except for some reason there were double the number of English speaking people as there were Thai (there aren't even that many people that go to the single international ward.). The translation wasn't completely working, and so a lot of the missionaries ended up having to translate a lot of the talks into English for the non-Thai speaking people sitting around them. It was really weird and slightly frustrating. I love you non-Thai people, but this was a Thailand Stake Conference for the Thai people in Thai. There were two general authorities here to instruct . . . the Thai people.

We've seen a lot of miracles so far as we have tried to go out and preach the word of God as it is. To get straight to the point and not dance around it or put it off; we have spoken more directly and clearly to the purpose we have been called to. As we have done this we have seen some great miracles helping us find the prepared and receptive.

As we open our hearts to God and let him in and listen to Him and act on what He gives, we are entitled to more! So open your hearts. Listen. Act. And receive with thanks.
