Happy birthday Elder มองตากู!!!
So many prophets said great stuff about these later days, and it's true. It is a great time to be alive, and a great time to be a patriot (of the Lord). 




To celebrate we are going to ride elephants today! This time we won't have a seat- we are riding bareback. I am so excited to do this!. On top of it, I am wearing clothes I've purchased here or found at our house, and I look like a Mexican cowboy. So turnt :)


We had another baptism! ซ. หญิง is so awesome! She's very knowledgeable and always hungering for more. She has so many friends at church and I know she's going to stay strong. She asked me to play the piano for her baptismal program, which surprised me because this branch is filled with much better pianists than I.

This week I saw a direct correlation between my efforts and the results. We had been experiencing so many blessings of the Spirit leading us to new people to teach and helping those investigating progress along and overcome their challenges, which for some reason we took as an excuse to "slacken" out efforts. That, combined with a dip in both of our health this week (we both felt sick and low energy) made our work seem below our standards and what we come to expect of ourselves.

So we've taken this as a positive learning experience and too the time to evaluate our approach over this past week compared to the previous weeks.  We set some goals for ourselves to approach this upcoming week with renewed effort.

I challenge everybody to do this as well. What did you do not so good this week? What would you do better and how? What goals and action are you going to set and carry out?

I don't know why or for what reason, but the Lord has decided to bless us with a few miraculous days. We have been given more than plenty of food in times of need, people have stopped  us  and asked us about religion and English class (which is growing so fast!).  Some of the people we teach that we have been working with have opened up their hearts and are committed to change and life is just amazing! It still hasn't gone through my soul that I will be leaving Thailand next week. In discussing zone conference from the previous Saturday, Sister Christensen said that we can't truthfully love missionary work without loving all of the aspects of missionary work. One of the least desirable parts of being a missionary is going out and inviting or tracking for large periods of time. To us, it is highly ineffective, it is physically draining, emotionally trying, we face much rejection and we often do hours of it at a single time. How fortunate that we were able to try out loving the part for a 5 hour block on Wednesday 555. With a   determination to love it, I went out to make that chuck of time a fun and positive chunk of time. Oh (Chiang) Mai, time goes so fast!

October 2nd, 2017 4 months, 2nd week Thailand, Bangkok, Chaing Mai  District samuel.montague @myldsmail.net (I would love to hear from you) On Monday, we went to an Family Home Evening (FHE) at the same family who we visited in the hospital. This time, however, it was for Shish-kebabs and หมูกระทะ (muugratha- the meat buffet thing I had last week). The food was fantastic and it was a great fellow-shipping opportunity as we had nonmembers and recent converts there! During district meetings on Tuesdays, my District Leader (and companion) likes to start off with something fun. This week, he choose to have us do another scripture chase, which surprise- I won! Even more exciting than that though, are the airplane tickets we bought (and paid for at 7/11- you can literally pay for anything and any bill there).  On Thursday I have to go to Bangkok for my visa renewal, and nothing else would get me there early enough (on the downside, I arrive  1am ).
