This was a very interesting week to say the least. Through trial and error we have established a high correlation between my personal afflictions and perseverance and the blessings we receive in finding those searching for the gospel. So much frustrating and challenging things happened to me this week (my 3rd flat tire in a months time, all my whites are yellow because our washing machine decided to have fun, etc). Even though it was rough, we saw so many blessings! We had a sharp jump in our "numbers": new investigators, investigators with baptismal dates, people that went sacrament meeting, and of course ซ. ตุ๊ก was confirmed and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, in addition to ซ. ป๋อมแป๋ม being baptized. They're both so awesome and I can tell from the short time I've been here that they are so solid.
We've been struggling a little bit to figure out how to be successful and effective missionaries, now that neither of us have a solid older companion. It's weird that I'm in charge of our companionship, but it's luckily more of an equal thing most of the time.
An awesome experience occurred while inviting one day; we met an awesome family (3 kids and their grandma). They came to English class and we've since taught them and the mom. Well, the 3 children came to church and stayed all 3 hours and told us they loved it! They've set their baptismal dates, and we are just being nicely compensated for my temporal issues with eternal blessings and just being part of their conversion.
From Helaman 3, we also read in verse 27:
"Thus we may see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name."
จรีงๆ we all have issues and problems. 555 (lol) I testify of that. But when we turn it over to Him we can be released of our burden and receive some well-earned ความเมตตา. So I challenge you to take one of your problems that you are dealing with right now and to turn it over to the Lord.
